Physician’s Perspective of Nutritional Psychiatry Study

Perinatal Diet and Mental Health Study

We are seeking pregnant women between 4 and 20 weeks gestation to participate in an observational study on diet and mental health!

This study is being conducted by Dr. Caroline Wallace, postdoctoral researcher, Elyse Hodel and Amy Coughlan, MSc candidates, and Dr. Marie-Claude Audet, Associate Professor, in the uOttawa School of Nutrition Sciences and The Royal’s Institute for Mental Health Research

The purpose of this study is to look at the relationship between diet and mental health during pregnancy and postpartum. If you are eligible, you will participate in 4 study visits where you will be asked questions about your mental health, diet, and lifestyle, and to provide blood and stool samples.

Study visits will take place at approximately 20 and 33 weeks of pregnancy, as well as 6 and 12 weeks after giving birth. These visits will last around 1.5 hours. To thank you for your time, you will receive a $20 gift card of your choice (Amazon, Starbucks, Walmart, President Choice) for each study visit completed.

This study has been reviewed and approved by the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group Research Ethics Board as Study #2022002.

We are seeking Canadian psychiatrists and family doctors to fill out an anonymous survey on nutritional psychiatry!

This study is being conducted by Dr. Caroline Wallace, postdoctoral researcher, and Dr. Marie-Claude Audet, Associate Professor, in the uOttawa School of Nutrition Sciences and The Royal’s Institute for Mental Health Research

The purpose of this study is to understand Canadian psychiatrists’ and primary care physicians’ understanding of nutritional psychiatry and their willingness to incorporate nutritional psychiatry approaches into their practice. The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete and will ask about your clinical and research experience and opinions of the field of nutritional psychiatry.
